Grand Pause
A Medley of Musical Miscellanea
A Grand Pause in music can be a refreshing, surprising or meditative moment of silence imbedded within the unfolding drama of a composition. Indeed, all three characteristics engage the listener in Barber's Adagio for Strings; its G.P. comes just after the momentous climax of a lengthy cresendo. Likewise, this section is designed to give teachers and visitors a time out from the fabric of our busy lives. It is a collection of whimsical bits of trivia, jokes, and quotes by or about music and musicians. Please savor and enjoy a Grand Pause in your day!< Back to Home
